TOPIC: An overview of Adbe Illustrator

SPEAKER: Brian P. Lawler

In this presentation, Brian Lawler will demonstrate Adobe Illustrator, and explain how it works and how it differs from the other Adobe applications.

He will demonstrate “primitives” and will show how he builds illustrations using Illustrator for printing and presentations.

Illustrator is a “vector” illustration program, which means that its components are mathematical coordinates. The tools in Illustrator allow those control points to be edited, moved and modified.

Brian uses Illustrator for complete illustrations, charts and graphs, and much more. This is an introductory lecture/demonstration. It is designed for those who are curious about Illustrator, and who want to know more about its capabilities.

Brian Lawler is a Cal Poly professor and Treasurer of SLOMUG He has been using Illustrator since before it was called Illustrator.
